I became a teacher to help students discover their passions and realize the power within themselves. Every day, I watch them take risks, face challenges, and turn curiosity into bold action that often surprises even them. One of my most memorable experiences came when my students learned about the genocide in Darfur and, moved to act, organized a global campaign that collected more than 30,000 shoes to represent the lives lost. Those shoes were displayed at the Capitol Reflecting Pool, showing what can happen when students are trusted, supported, and empowered to lead. If chosen as America’s Favorite Teacher, I will continue empowering students to turn ideas into impact and donate $10,000 of the prize to the Arms Wide Open Foundation to support children and families battling pediatric cancer. Welcome, Fellow Adventurer,
You’ve made it—past the lesson planning, the broken pencils, the hallway duty, and the 17th “What are we doing today?” And now? You’ve landed in a space built just for you.
After 20+ years in the classroom trenches (and triumphs), I’ve learned that teaching is one part strategic mission, one part creative chaos, and a whole lot of heart. That’s why I created Epic EDventures—a hub for teachers who are passionate, slightly over caffeinated, and ready to turn the everyday into something extraordinary.
Here, you’ll find classroom-tested lessons, time-saving tools, and inspiration that doesn’t come in toxic positivity wrapping. Whether you're managing upper elementary side quests or navigating middle school plot twists, this is your go-to gear station.
You don’t need a cape or a Jedi robe—just the courage to keep showing up, the wisdom to know when to say no, and the humor to laugh when your day derails at 8:03 a.m.
So grab what you need. Recharge your teaching force. And remember: you’re not just managing a classroom—you’re shaping a galaxy.
Let’s make teaching epic—together.
